Due to the popularity of the last issue, here are MORE free applications that a PC/Laptop User shouldn’t be without:
Desksweeper – Want to hide all desktop icons (including Recycle Bin, My Computer, Network Neighbourhood, etc.) DeskSweeper is always visible in the Windows system tray for easy access. A single mouseclick is all you need to hide or view your desktop icons.
EULAlyzer – Check for Privacy issues before software is installed
Handbrake – This open-source DVD to MPEG-4 converter is available for MacOS X, Linux and Windows
SmitFraud (Hard Core Malware remover – use with care) – Are you seeing excessive pop-up messages showing a false alert or fake error message, trying to lure computer user into purchasing anti-spyware software, such as AdwareDelete or Antispymaster, that supposedly detects adware on your computer but in turn is a malicious spying software. This program WILL remove it from your computer
Online WhiteBoard and Collaboration – Write, share, revise and compare. This web-based application is shareable with the ability to roll back to any version and compare the changes. Solo or collaborated effort, its accessable from anywhere.
Print Folder – Handy utility to print or save a list of files located in any folder. Right-click any folder in Windows Explorer and select “PrintFolder” in the popup menu.
Process Explorer – Ever wondered which program has a particular file or directory open? Now you can find out. Process Explorer shows you information about which handles and DLLs processes have opened or loaded.
Simple File Shredder – Simple File Shredder is a utility that securely deletes your files so they can’t be restored using recovery software.
SpaceMonger – Your computer’s hard drive is a mess, and you have no idea where anything is in it. Heck, you don’t even know what’s in it. Search tools haven’t helped; all they tell you is what you already know: that your data is a mess. What you need is understanding and organization.
